Ms. O’Neil received her Juris Doctor from San Francisco Law School where she was a member of the Dean’s List and an Editor for the Law Review. Ms. O’Neil received her B.A. degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. She has four years’ experience in the Student Athletic Training program through the Athletic Department and was certified as an Emergency Medical Technician. Her participation with the Athletic Department focused on emergency treatment and rehabilitation of all types of orthopedic injury with a specific emphasis in rehabilitation from knee and back surgery.
At Finnegan, Marks, Desmond & Jones, Ms. O’Neil manages a diverse caseload including large multi-party claims, coverage disputes in cumulative trauma cases, subrogation, 132a claims and Serious and Willful claims. Ms. O’Neil’s trial experience includes prevailing on AOE/COE defenses and the successful cross-examination of DEU raters.
Utilizing her extensive medical and rehabilitation background, Ms. O’Neil takes an early and aggressive approach to medical management of her caseload. She has taken numerous physician depositions with positive results on issues ranging from date of injury to necessity for treatment. Ms. O’Neil has also been very active in recent legislative changes, including working with long-standing clients to develop more aggressive approaches to Utilization Review and implementation of ACOEM and other evidence based medicine treatment guidelines.
